Post directly to twitter and facebook
This post is a trial run of a new plugin that we just installed. It is called Network Publisher and is brought to you by linksalpha.com. In a nutshell it provides you the ability to publish your blog posts directly to your facebook page, linkedin, and twitter accounts (it also works with myspace and a few others).
If you are a true social networking junky this is a must. Especially considering the fact that some of us have lives and we like to live them. It is not my idea of fun to go around tweeting, facebooking, and linking – until I turn blue in the face and my girlfriend leaves me. Not a chance. This is anti-technology. ITC for business or pleasure should always be about making life easier not harder. So thank you to the good people at linkalpha for this one.
Links Alpha Not Uninstalling
Thanks to Laura…we are adding this supplement. looks like we forgot to publish how to solve this one. Here is a list of steps. They may be a little different for each user but should help to stop it working permanently.

1. Unistall the plugin and delete the associated directory in the plugins folder.
2. Go into your header.php file and look for references to linksalpha – and Delete the associated code if you find it. Just “Ctrl F” and search for “alpha”. I would also suggest looking in your Footer.php as well.
3. Facebook: login to your account and go to your “Privacy Settings” and click on “Applications Websites” – then click to remove Access from Links Alpha application.
*** You probably want to Block the Application as well, See Comments Below. ****
4. Twitter: Make sure to go to Twitter and login. Then go to “Settings” and then “Connections” and click on “Revoke Access” to the Alpha Links App
5. Go to Links Alpha website and login to your user and be sure to remove each of the publishing access for each account.
Very Important:
1. Do all of these steps! If you only do 1 or 2, you will probably still have problems
2. Make sure NEVER TO LOGIN TO ALPHA LINKS AGAIN ! By logging in you are agreeing to a laundry list of issues…Checkout their “User Agreement” on the login page.

Update on LinksAlpha….Not happy with Uninstalling.
We have moved off of Links Alpha for various reasons – the plugin does exactly what it says on the tin. But we have had issues with it not wanting to stop working. We have deactivated the plugin and deleted it from our plugins directory…and the thing is still working? So now we went into our account on their website and deleted the networks we were publishing to…Still freakin working? So Now we have gone into all the networks and banned access to them by LinksAlpha….we shall finally see if this stops it.
This type of issues uninstalling a plugin starts to put that system into the Virus Category. Any software, plugin, extension, or otherwise should be designed to be easily removed. You should not have to go to this type of length simple to remove it.

Thank you for the response, but I took all the steps and it still appeared in my facebook profile.
Finally I blocked the application (by clicking on the linksalpha icon on the post on facebook and then on the “block this application” button). And it worked!

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the update and the new info. I will add the block to the list. They must be even worse then they used to be!
